How much traffic construction companies get from AI tools?
A year from now, it may be too late for your construction AI marketing. Right now, for construction websites, we see anywhere between 1-2% to 10-20% of traffic come from AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.
AI Today is where SEO & Google Maps were Back in a Day
But this is exactly where Google Search was 15 years ago, or Google Maps was back in 2018. And if you don't get ahead now, you may be late to the game.
Here's what it can look like. First, it is easy to get on a platform, and no one seems to want it. A platform gives you 10 cents cost per click, just like Google Ads did, and you can reach thousands of people with your single post, like it was on LinkedIn. Then, it's getting harder as more people hear about the crazy results their competitors get on that platform. Later on, at some point, it becomes impossible to get in, or it takes years to get there.
Why Start Early AI Marketing for Construction Early?
Look at Google Organic Search. We've seen this too. Initially, it was so easy to rank number one for a plumber or waterproofer or HVAC in Toronto that anyone could do it. Build a page, get a plumber Toronto domain and some links, and you're golden.
This is a huge contrast compared to where things are today. A person who started their SEO 10 years ago has a huge gap versus someone who just got a website. Here's what it looks like. People ask, "How can I get number one across my province, from Toronto to Barrie, through Hamilton, Kitchener, and more?" Well, you have to have a page about those locations. You have to have a volume of links. If your competitor has 1,000 or 5,000 quality backlinks, there's only one way to bridge that gap — by methodically putting in the work to build pages, optimize, promote your business to get the backlinks, et cetera. But back in the day, this gap that is so hard to bridge today simply wasn't there.
And this is what it looks like with AI tools today. The opportunity is there. It's just a question of taking it before the gap becomes too wide. So if digital marketing strategy for your construction company does not include AI, you should definitely give it some thought, or better, talk to experts.
